John Wise – President and CEO

John M. Wise is president and chief executive officer of Viscom International Inc.

Wise founded Viscom in 2000 with an understanding of the Hispanic market and the belief that there was an opportunity to provide better communications products to this underserved market. Today, Viscom is a well-respected and rapidly growing company that boasts over 85 million calls processed to Mexico and more than one billion minutes sold.

Under Wise’s leadership, Viscom created the BESTTM Mexico brand of prepaid phone cards and is now the Southeast's largest producer and marketer of prepaid phone cards specifically designed for Mexicans living in the United States to call Mexico. It is one of only a handful of companies specializing in marketing specifically to the Mexican market.

Prior to founding Viscom, Wise worked for three years at PointeCom developing communications products for Hispanic consumer markets in the United States and Latin America. He also worked in international trade at Euromerge in Stockholm, Sweden. His first successful entrepreneurial venture was Foreign Impulse Inc., a manufacturing operation in Guatemala that he founded and owned.

A graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C., Wise earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and Spanish.  He also studied at the University of  Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico.
